The promotion spans the full range of Claude surfaces, including the web, desktop, and mobile apps, the Cowork collaboration feature, Claude Code, and the Microsoft Office integrations for Excel and PowerPoint. When the promotion expires on March 27, usage limits revert to standard levels automatically with no billing implications.
The infrastructure rationale is straightforward. Doubling off-peak capacity gives users a direct reason to shift compute-heavy work outside the 8 AM–2 PM ET rush, flattening demand and keeping GPUs busy through the quieter hours. Cloud providers have run time-of-use pricing schemes for decades. AI inference, it turns out, has the same operational shape. The "spring break" label is marketing dressing — the logic underneath is classic load-balancing.
