Milla Jovovich has launched MemPalace, an open-source AI memory framework that racked up 10,000 GitHub stars in its first 24 hours. The system organizes information in virtual 3D rooms using the ancient "memory palace" mnemonic technique instead of keyword searches.

The framework maps data points to coordinates in a virtual environment, clustering related concepts together so they're easier to find. It splits the frontend visualization from the backend storage. That means developers can swap in different language models. Memory and context retention remain stubborn problems for AI agents working across long conversations.

"By day, she's filming action movies, walking Miu Miu fashion shows, and being a mom. By night she's coding," Sigman posted on X. The Hollywood-meets-crypto collaboration reflects how interest in AI tooling has spread beyond Silicon Valley. While OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic have all added memory features to their assistants, MemPalace bets that spatial organization works better than pure keyword retrieval.
